Sunny Cyprus

Date: April 2019

We will spend a week on the eastern Mediterranean island of Cyprus during the month of April so we can witness some fantastic Spring migration whilst soaking up the sun.

We will be based in the heart of Old Paphos town on the southwest of the island close to the archaeological quarter. From here, we will go out for full and half day excursions, mainly within the Paphos district, but with two full day excursions to take in the Akamas Peninsula and the Troodos Mountains.

We will visit and explore a number of different natural and man-made habitats to see a good number of species that you won’t find in the UK - including a visit to a water treatment works! Our itinerary will be flexible depending on weather and information received from local birders.

Target Species: Bonelli’s Eagle, Montagu’s Harrier, Long-legged Buzzard, Great Spotted Cuckoo, Roller, European Bee-eater,  Spur-winged Plover, Masked Shrike, Hoopoe, Cretzschmar’s Bunting, Cyprus Wheatear, Cyprus Warbler, Griffon Vulture, Eleanora’s Falcon and many more.

The price includes flights, accommodation, all meals and transport whilst on the island. Departures from multiple airports can be arranged.
