Brilliant Birding in Extremadura

Come on a whirlwind tour of this beautiful and unspoilt region of Spain for an intensive 6 day birding trip where you are guaranteed to be enchanted by the wildflower meadows, nesting White Storks and musical Nightingales.

We will be based near Montanchez, south of Trujillo, a picturesque town built on a castle topped hill with fantastic views of the surrounding area. We will have full day excursions taking in the plains, wetlands, woodlands and a must see visit to Monfragüe National Park. The park is one of the most important protected spaces in Extremadura. It offers an extraordinary landscape of woods, meadows, and ponds along with unbelievably close up views of Griffon, Black and Egyptian Vultures.

Target Species: White and Black Stork, Lesser Kestrel, Griffon, Black and Egyptian Vultures, Montagu’s Harrier, Spanish Imperial, Golden, Bonneli’s, Short-toed and Booted Eagles, Great and Little Bustard, Purple Swamphen, Black-shouldered Kite, Azure-winged Magpie, Roller and many more.

Cost is £600.00 when sharing a twin room, or £850.00 for single room occupancy. The price includes accommodation, all meals and transport during the stay. Flights not included.
